This delightful room is located at the front of the building looking at and named after the impressive Mount Gibraltar standing some 863 meters high between Bowral and Mittagong. The room accommodated the bank managers’ families from the 1890’s to 1970’s.
The largest of our rooms overlooking the Clocktower at the junction of Bowral Road and Main Street which is a memorial dedicated to those who lost their lives in past Wars. The Clocktower’s foundation stone was laid in 1919 and completed in 1920. The Clocktower Room is located at the front of the residence and was the master bedroom used by past bank managers for 80 years from the 1890’s to 1970’s.
This room is to the side of the building facing East overlooking Mount Alexandra and the Old Bank courtyard. Originally part of the bank managers’ private quarters this room most likely was either occupied by the Bank Manager’s children or nanny/housekeeper.1890’s to 1970’s.
A delightful self contained studio apartment upstairs from the sandstone courtyard and ideally suitable for longer stays. The studio is serviced twice weekly or as requested. Fully equipped kitchen with fridge, oven, cooktop and dishwasher. Being self-contained, breakfast is not included in the tariff rate but is available as an addition if required.
Accommodation upstairs includes en suite, walk-in robe, clothes washer/dryer and additional downstairs sitting room, shower, foldaway bed and separate WC. Fully equipped kitchen with fridge, oven, cooktop and dishwasher. Downstairs also includes double divan with en suite.
Modern day touches in the easy-access Stables include two king single beds, separate sofa bed, fully equipped kitchen and heated floor and towel racks in the bathroom. Guests are also free to relax in the main building of the former bank which features open fires - perfect for a winter stay in the Highlands. Breakfast is included in the nightly tariff. The Stables is also wheelchair accessible.
